This past weekend we met with the core group of leaders from Nueva Vida, the group of young professionals and university students we have been working with since coming to Colombia. The Covenant has a vision to engage the younger generation in church planting and in the the ministry of the church. Many times after high school young adults entering college have tended to leave the church. The past three years we have met some pretty incredible men and women who have shown incredible strength and determination as they put themselves through school, started new jobs, and have expressed their desire to love God and love others. It has been a privilege to learn from them, walk alongside them, pray with them through health issues and job searches, and go deeper in knowing Christ.
This is a crucial time for Nueva Vida as the group has determined its mission, vision, goals, values and is working on what this looks like in practical every day life. This past weekend we met to refine our priorities, talk about how we envision this church going into the future and talk about tangible ministries we want to engage in this year. We thank God for the people he has brought into this group and pray that others who are seeking a relationship with Jesus will also be welcomed and integrated into the community. Pray for clarity as we define leadership roles, plan a schedule for 2015 and seek to find out where God is at work and partner with God.
