Soaking up Wisdom

Enjoying the view

The rain is falling outside as I write on this cold California day, and yet, just 5 days ago, this picture was taken in Chico, when we visited Naomi and Ryan, and saw where they have made “home” for this season of their lives.  I send this picture as a reminder to you, and to us Groots, that it is good to stop and see the beauty in front of our eyes….to enjoy sweet fellowship…to see Him.

This time at home has been one of soaking up gems of wisdom from people we have met along the way…of having those conversations that speak of God’s working in and through the ordinary…of facing the battles with humility and integrity…of being encouraged and challenged by those who have stayed the course, despite…

Praying and asking God to let me see Him….Journaling my emotions and asking God to help me see the patterns and get to the roots of woundedness that need His healing….Meditation and Fasting….new journeys into quiet and seeking God that are trying to make their way into a “lifestyle” of ministry for me.  I recently asked God for a word to breathe in and out as I quieted my heart… the phrase that came to me, “Holy One”….As I practiced saying this phrase, it took on different meanings as I thought of it…Wholly one”….and even “Hole-y one” (this was probably influenced by a Bible Study I am going to with my mom)…but it kept coming back to “Holy One”….     The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

The journey here in the USA  is not over….but it has been good.  I am thankful.
