Please pray for CAR

Our friends in CAR are again facing rebel attack and a violent takeover of the capital.   Many towns have been taken already, and our little town of Gamboula had rebel control last week, but we hear that they are okay right now.  We have news of continued normal work at the CEFA farm and out in the villages, so some of our friends there have stayed put, others have crossed in to Cameroon.  Many are anticipating increased rebel activity on January 19th, when the Presidential election results will be announced.  But there is chaos in the capital right now.  Missionary colleagues there wrote today that they could hear the gunfire, just 5-10 miles from their home, at the entry barriers into the city.  Please pray with us.  As you pray for peace and unity in our own country, the U.S., please add some prayers for CAR, in turmoil again.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
