Please pray for flights to the U.S. for us

On Friday we had purchased Turkish Air tickets to Chicago, only to have them cancelled on Sunday morning.  We had been keeping our eyes open for flights and were excited to think we were going to be home by July 5th.  On Sunday afternoon, Anna was in a shop and the clerk noticed her American accent and started up a conversation about her sister who had just flown to the U.S., after being up and down about numerous flights and all the paperwork involved, beyond what we have experienced thus far.  Many of our missionary colleagues and others are facing this problem, trying to get back to the states without paying four times the usual pre-Covid fare.  AnywayAnna came and told me and I went and got details and thanked her profusely for sharing this new possibility.  I told her a little bit about us being missionaries and how we had been praying.  She went on to share how she and her mom pray every morning for the Lord to send people across their paths that they might help.  I asked permission and then gave her a hug – contra Covid!  Anna calls her my new best buddy!

We have now contacted her sister’s travel agent, hoping for the same ticket price and success that her sister experienced.  We are hoping for news today – will you pray with us for favor?  For tickets on Emirates Airlines to get to Chicago within the week?

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
