Please keep the prayers going!

While peace continues in our little town of Gamboula and many of my Muslixm friends continue on with life as best they can just across the border,

there continues to be conflict in many places in the rest of the country, with deaths and injuries, and Muslixms continue to flee:

We have heard reports of a combined census of over 11,000 people in these two camps.  UNHCR have provided temporary tentlike housing, latrines, and wells, and they are trying to provide food and some basic health care but it is a daunting job.  I just had a call yesterday from a dear friend who lives at one of these camps with her children. They escaped from CAR with the clothes on their backs…she called to say that she and her kids had malaria and the camp’s health clinic was out of meds and that they were hungry because the 4 day cycle of food distribution just isn’t enough to keep them fed.  We are able to help her and her aging mom and 3 kids, but what about the other 10,995?   Please pray, pray, pray.

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
