Memorial Service Conducted for Edith Larson

BATAVIA, IL (October 16, 2012) – A memorial service for Edith (Nelson) Larson, wife of retired pastor Robert A. Larson, was conducted October 7 in Michealsen Chapel on the campus of the Holmstad Retirement Community. Larson, 84, died October 4.

She was born October 6, 1927, in Stromsburg, Nebraska, the daughter of Oscar and Alma Nelson.

Larson graduated from Swedish Covenant Hospital Nursing School, class of 1949, and worked as a registered nurse for more than 10 years. The Larsons were married October 28, 1961.

The couple served three congregations in Michigan: Mission Covenant Church in Manistee, Ishpeming Covenant Church, and Mission Covenant Church in Whitehall. They also served Ridgeway Covenant Church in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania; Kewanee Covenant Church in Kewanee, Illinois; and Calvary Covenant Church in Cranston, Rhode Island.

In addition to her husband, Larson is survived by two daughters, Julie Saeuberlich of Grovertown, Indiana; Linnea Jorgensen of Long Beach, California; and a son, Robert Larson of Goldsboro, North Carolina.

A private interment was held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
