We’re Back!

Our sincere thanks to ALL our Ministry Partners for your patience with our long break from blogging. We know that many of you have watched and enjoyed the “Tales from Africa”.  Thank you for your interest and encouraging responses to those short video stories.

SO WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?

For those who may not receive our Smith SAGA updates by e-mail, here is a very quick summary of the past 18 months:

Mid-July 2014  Return to the U.S. for Home Assignment.   Helen began the Spiritual Direction Course at NPTS

August-early December ’14  Sharing about Congo with Church Partners

Dec. 3, 2014  Total Right Knee Replacement for Tim

Late January  Beginning of yearlong “Sabbatical of Healing”   (working on healthier interaction in marriage and ministry through counseling)

Feb. – May ’15  Breast Cancer Challenge for Helen

June – Oct. ’15  Hand Surgery and Therapy for Helen

Dec. 9, 2015  Total Left Knee Replacement for Tim

Jan. 21, 2016  We received the ‘Green Light’ to Return to Congo!

SO WHAT’S UP NEXT?

LOTS!  Final clearance from our doctors, getting our shots updated, acquiring visas & a yearly supply of meds, shopping & packing for Africa, packing down what we won’t need, maybe sneaking in a quick visit to a few more churches?…..

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR US FOR PEACE AS WE TRUST GOD TO PROVIDE FOR ALL OUR NEEDS.

Now that we’re ‘back in the game’ and back on the blog our hope is to be better in touch with you.  We’re VERY excited about all God’s been doing thru’ the ministry started last term at Zulu Camp & Discipleship Center.  More on that in our next post at this site.  For now we close with 3 things:  our family photo from Christmas 2015, grateful ♥’s for God’s healing work in our lives, and much love to all of you who read and pray.

(Left to Right):  Deborah, Tim, Helen, and Rebekah

WONDERFUL to have the love and support of Rebekah & Deborah!
