ALC 2011-2012

ALC Christmas Block Party

Dec 17, 2011

So, so cool to see the kids in our neighborhood perform the Christmas story.  We have seen this in our churches over and over again, but it takes on a new flavor when it is performed in a context that has never before heard the story of Christ’s birth told.

“Christmas is a time, Christmas is a time Christmas is a time to love..

Combining Thai dance with Christian music in Thai

“I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing, The people sing

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest!”

Children’s Day – Jan 14, 2012

This is a very “un-Thai” game

Using your feet to pick up marbles in an icy, icy swimming pool, this was truly the most popular game of our carnival.  One man came over to help with the game, it was so much fun (and COLD)!

As we reach out again and again to our neighborhood, we pray that they would see that our love is genuine and that it comes from our Savior. We ended children’s day with our worship service  and it was a sweet closure to a day of activities!

March 2012

The October 2011 flooding caused schools to close so vacation has not started yet for many of the kids in the neighborhood.  No one ever knows when school is closing so we have a difficult time planning our starting date every year.  ALC Summer’s first week had only 6 kids but this second week has 15 kids as of midweek…praying that our team can invest hearts and energy fully with whomever God brings our way!

Celebrating  San’s life… chosen and loved by God….
So thankful for the journey He has given her and her  hope in Him.
