Pastor’s Retreat

Thank you for your prayers for the pastor’s retreat held May 1-4 up in the Oaxacan mountains!  The Holy Spirit was indeed present among us!   Although we were a smaller group than we expected, this actually allowed us to experience more intimacy with God and with each other.  Even those of us who came to serve the pastors and their spouses shared that we all felt we were ministered to in a special way.  I shared about my own intimate encounter with God during the retreat in an earlier blog here.  Several of the participants also shared how grateful they were for the rest, relaxation, fun and time with God and each other.

We especially enjoyed our guests who came from afar to share with us.  We were privileged to have Chicago Covenant Pastor and Oaxacan native Carlos Ruiz share God’s Word and his testimony of God’s faithfulness with us.  Since we arrived in Oaxaca almost three years ago, we’ve been dreaming of inviting Pastor and Musician Joel Sierra, our former pastor in Monterrey, to minister to us through worship and God allowed this dream to come true for this retreat!  We also enjoyed the presence of the new Covenant Regional Coordinators for Latin America and the Carribean, Eugenio and Pia Restrepo – they did a great job making us do crazy things and laugh a lot during game night!

And here is a collage of pictures Eugenio and Pia put together that paints a picture of the fun we had together…
