Giving to God Campaign!

Let’s work together to give to God!

I am extremely thankful for the individuals and the churches who have already prayed and given financially to God so that I can serve here in Sweden!  98% has been raised thanks to people like you!!!  Praise God! Now there is only 2% remaining ($2,200).  I am raising funds for 2012 and 2013, and people are also welcome to pledge any amount for one or both years. Pledges are considered as gifts and are counted toward the last 2% needed. For those of you who are interested: gifts are tax deductible.

The Bible gives us a good example of “fundraising” and what can happen when God’s people respond:

There are 5 Principles of Fundraising that can be found in the book of Exodus when the Lord commanded Moses to build Him a sanctuary.

  1. God gives the details (Exodus 25.8-40)
  2. God tells how to use the supplies (Exodus 25.8-9 and Exodus 35)
  3. God then tell Moses to ask the people for the supplies (Exodus 25.1)
  4. The people give to God (Exodus 35.21-24)
  5. The gifts were used to glorify God by the craftsmen God gifted (Exodus 36.1-6)

The best thing is that Moses needed to tell the people to stop giving because they were giving too much:

So Moses gave the command, and this message was sent throughout the camp: ‘Men and women, don’t prepare any more gifts for the sanctuary.  We have enough!’ So the people stopped bringing their sacred offerings.  Their contribrutions were more than enough to complete the whole project.

Exodus 36.6-7

The example found in Exodus also applies to us in the church planting project in Sweden. We too are building a sanctuary for God!:

  1. God has given the calling and the details of planting a church in Gothenburg, Sweden.  This is given through the Swedish Missions Church (Svenska Missionskyrkan) and the Evangelical Covenant Church.
  2. The money needed is to support Aaron so that he can live and serve as the pastor for the church plant.
  3. Aaron is asking individuals and churches to respond to his and the church’s need.
  4. People have already given…now we are just waiting for the last bit to come in…will you too be willing to give to God?
  5. The gifts are already being used as the church plant has already started, however it would be nice for Aaron to focus on his giftings of being a pastor rather than focusing on fundraising.  Your gift can help.
