Demolition Under Way
Smaller bobcats entered through the lower southeast entrance to the former mailroom area around 8:30 this morning and began clearing interior partitions and hauling out demolition debris, while a large backhoe began punching an opening through the rear east wall area that formerly housed a portion of the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism.

A member of the demolition crew told Covenant News Service that work this week will focus on clearing interior floors of the building and removing debris, estimating that the larger shell of the building will likely come down next week.
Crews installed protective fencing around the entire site late last week and with heavy equipment moved in over the weekend.
The site is now owned by Swedish Covenant Hospital and will be redeveloped as part of the hospital’s long-term campus plan. Short-term, plans call for the area to be surfaced with asphalt and used for parking.

Like everything in life – – – it is sad and yet wonderful. Good memories associated with the old Executive Building but the hospital will bring healing to many. So, God bless each juncture!
