This is the snap shot of our great community that I love and serve the Lord in. The stats are bad but there is a movement of hope and change amongst the residents as well. We are seeing new changes. This is why our work is needed. The median household in North Lawndale for a family of 4 is 18,342 45% of our community lives below the poverty line the unemployment rate is 15%. We have a 62% drop out rate only graduating 38% of our students are we are ranked 69th out of 77 communities in Chicago in education. Over 10,000 men in North Lawndale in jail. 64% of Juvenile arrest in Chicago occurred in 10 districts in 2008 Lawndale placed 2nd from all the districts with Juvenile arrest.
