CONCORD, CA (October 2, 2008) – Walter Contreras was recently named director of Outreach and Hispanic Church Planting for the Pacific Southwest Conference (PSWC) of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
He is returning to the position, which he held from 2000-2007, after serving for a year in the Department of World Mission, concluding that work at the end of July this year.

Contreras will focus on recruiting and assessing potential Hispanic church planters, developing new projects, working with partner churches, and coaching. He also will work with a newly formed Hispanic coordinating team to facilitate connections between Hispanic churches.
He also will assist conference churches in planting ministries in Mexico and as well as countries in Central and South America.
