Visas applied for, now we just wait and pray!

It’s time to apply for visa extensions so that we can stay longer than just 3 months in South Africa.  We turned in our applications on Friday and we would dearly appreciate your prayers.  The hoops we have to jump through are numerous, and in spite of goofs on both sides from time to time, we have always received the extensions.  We have to drive in to Durban, about 2 hours on the road, and usually spend anywhere from 1-2 hours in lines.  This time we were very grateful that we left plenty of time ahead of our appointment because we found that the offices had moved.  The hassles were minimal this time, even with the address change, and anyway the end product will be well worth it!  A visa for more time in Africa!  Thank you for praying for the visas to come through as we patiently wait!

About danforth

As Covenant missionaries, we are working with all the tribal groups of the Central African Republic (CAR) but are trying to give special attention to the Fulani, a Musxlim, cattle herding, and semi-nomadic people group. We live on an experimental/training farm, near a mission station which has a hospital plus bible and nursing schools. We are establishing relationships with the local people groups through compassion ministries; Roy through agriculture and Aleta through public health and visitation, in order, ultimately, to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah with them. CAR is one of the least developed countries in the world and is currently in continual crisis (since the coup in March 2013), so reaching out in compassion is key to reaching their hearts. Due to the ongoing conflict and resultant ethnic cleansing in CAR, we are crossing the border to interact with our Fulani contacts.
