We just unloaded two forty foot containers from Sweden at Gamboula this week. Our mission hospital storerooms are now absolutely crammed full. Included in the shipment were hospital beds and sheets and lots of supplies for the work here. We had some interesting meetings with the customs officials who came to survey the opening of the containers, but all ended well. We learned some lessons about making our packing lists that we passed on to Tim Wester & Kim Cone, who, with the help of many others, were busy packing a forty foot container in Rockford, IL, just yesterday. Here’s a photo of that container, packed and ready to leave the Touch Global yard.
This container from the U.S. will arrive to Gamboula in maybe 3-4 months, so we will have time to organize and use up quite alot of what came this week. At least we had better do this. When it rains, it pours, and we are so grateful to all those who have contributed things and time and money and prayers so that these gifts can be put to good use!
