Bio

Spiritual journey: I grew up in a Christian family that was very involved in ministry.  At 13 I was confronted with the need to choose to follow Jesus for myself.  Since then it has been a lifetime of learning what it means to walk with Jesus and to find my worth and life in him.

Call to ministry: While teaching in the public schools and volunteering in youth ministry, I found myself more and more drawn to companion people on their spiritual journeys. After a series of staffing changes at the church, I was called out of the volunteer ministry and into more formal leadership.  From there, the second half of my calling unfolded and continues to unfold today.

I am passionate about: helping people find ways to connect with God,  the profound privilege of walking with people on their journey and the gift of  witnessing the holy work of transformation when they let Jesus take hold.  I am passionate about my family, my c3 community, seeing Lake Michigan in all its seasons and moods, teaching art to children in Detroit.

How long have you been involved in ministry? I started volunteering in youth ministry in the 80’s.  In 2001 I joined the staff  of Christ Covenant Church as Pastor of Community LIfe and at the same time completed my training in Spiritual Direction.

What do you think is important that we know about you, as a member of the Speaker Team? My passion is helping people find spiritual practices that fit who they have been created to be and help them position themselves to receive something beautiful from God.  I also feel called to bring opportunities to explore prayer through the expressive arts.  My own children are 19 (b. ’92) and 14 (b. ’97).  I volunteer as an art teacher at City Mission in Detroit once a week.
