Studies by important missiologists have shown that although over 50% of students who have participated on a mission trip say their lives have changed as a result of what God taught them on a mission trip (we have all heard students say “that trip changed my life forever!”) the reality is less than 2% of those students actually change their behavior toward missions, missionaries, ethnic groups, community ministry, prayer or serving as a result of mission trips. If this is true, then mission trips often do little to change the lives of our students.

Don’t we want to have a higher percentage of our students truly have a life-changing experience through Christ as the result of mission trips?

Free Weekend at Camp!

Alpine’s spring Give-A-Day weekend, May 13-15 is a free weekend at camp for individuals and groups willing to give at least six hours of labor on that Saturday. We had a youth group come to last fall’s G.A.D. and their leaders said that working alongside each other was just the thing to break down the walls between the students who come from differing schools and neighborhoods. It also helped Alpine get ready for the winter season. This spring’s will help us get ready for the summer season.

The Speaker Team grew out of a desire to assist the youth ministries of local Covenant churches by providing quality speakers for conference retreats, leadership training, or gatherings of two or more Covenant churches. Our goal is to challenge and assist the Evangelical Covenant Church to reach, disciple, and equip youth and families for growth toward spiritual maturity and to serve the community and the world for Christ.

A Time to Breathe

A Time to Breathe is an interactive and experimental retreat for youth, designed to provide guidance and experience in spiritual practices so that participants may grow in their faith walk with God. During this retreat, youth workers and students explore together what it means to be in the presence of God.
