Youth Workers of the world unite! OK, so maybe not the world, and maybe not all youth workers, but Covenant (the most awesome?) youth workers, you’ve got something awesome coming up in just a few months: Youth Workers Connection! And thanks be to God, this year it’s somewhere warm: San Diego! Youth workers will gather at the Midwinter Conference February 4-8.

This year we’ve decided to join our colleagues in ministry by being a part of the Midwinter Conference. We have something planned with youth workers in mind for each day. You may want to jot a note about these things in your agenda now: a comedian, dinners together, a Wednesday afternoon excursion, lunch forums (addressing questions like: how well does your staff work together, how are you being spiritually filled up and poured out, what mistakes do you wish you hadn’t made in dealing with difficult people, and what and who helps keep pace in your ministry), and learning experiences that will address deepening disciples, expanding foundations, and children’s ministry to youth ministry. We invite you to join us this year at Midwinter!

So exciting! In case you’re wondering who will be speaking, here’s the lineup:

  • Monday: Michael Jr., comedian
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Mark Labberton, associate professor of preaching at Fuller Theological Seminary
  • Tuesday: Danny Carroll, distinguished professor of Old Testament at Denver Seminary
  • Thursday: Kanyere Eaton, pastor of Fellowship Covenant Church, a Bronx-based congregation of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
  • Thursday: Gary Walter, president of the ECC
  • Friday: Sameh Maurice, senior pastor of Kasr El Dobara Evangelical Church in Cairo Egypt (the largest Evangelical (Presbyterian) Church in the Middle East)

There are going to be so many great things going on at Midwinter and Connection. Stay tuned for more info, and be sure to check out the Connection event page for the schedule and registration information. And don’t forget about scholarships!

Hope to see you all there!
