This 2012 Draft Resolution is being presented to the church with the intent of fostering dialogue, awareness, and feedback around the often complex issue of stewardship and generosity. This resolution invites followers of Christ to live out our identity as generous stewards of God’s material and spiritual gifts. It seeks to remind us that the good (and sometimes hard) news of Scripture is that we are dependent on God to sustain us and shape our understanding of wealth and possessions. It calls the church to be a formational community that counter-culturally embraces biblical stewardship and generosity as foundational to our life, faith, and witness.

You are invited to submit comments, edits, resources, and thoughts regarding the draft resolution to the Christian Action Commission (CAC) now through November 1, 2012. This draft will also be presented to the 2012 Annual Meeting delegates for discussion and to gather additional input and edits. The final resolution will be rewritten for the 2013 Annual Meeting and will incorporate edits, suggestions and resources given by the wider church.

The CAC encourages churches to spend some time reflecting on the resolution and learning about the topic addressed. A one-page resource sheet and discussion guide have been provided by the CAC for church, small group, or individual use to help begin exploration of the topic. Thanks for joining the conversation and sharing (below) with the rest of the church thoughts and resources on this important topic.

This resolution will be presented to the 2012 Annual Meeting in June, we encourage you to read it and discuss it with the delegate(s) from your church who will be in attendance.
