Q: “I just met with our volunteer youth leaders for the Sr. High ministry. They enjoyed using the 24/7 curriculum and the “Crazy Love” materials. But they are wondering what is out there that is as engaging as those materials. Any suggestions?”
A: “Here are a few suggestions:
- The Jesus Creed for Students, by Scott McKnight (Paraclete Press, 2011)
- Rock Solid Daily Journal and Leader’s Guide
- Undone 31
- Youth Nexus Intersect Curriculum was developed as a result of youth workers and their students who had participated in the Youth Nexus experience and wanted to bring it home to share with others. The overarching themes are being formed by God’s story, being God’s people, bearing God’s image, and hearing God’s call. You can download the curriculum here. In addition to the curriculum there is a Leader’s Guide and Supplementary Activities available for download.
- Nooma DVDs, by Rob Bell (downloads and dvds)
- The Me I Want to Be, Teen Edition Curriculum, by John Ortberg and Scott Rubin
- 36 Parables: Purple (DVD) – Youth Specialties
Those are some initial suggestions. If you have more specific information/topics that will help in the search, let me know.”
