Planes Trains and Automobiles

I just bought Dave (my husband) a plane ticket to Chicago for Connection and part of Midwinter Conference. Dave’s running sound for the alternative worship sessions (morning and evening prayers in 3 different traditions). Here’s the news: airfares are still cheap to Chicago that weekend. His ticket was less than $200.

This will be a good conference for key leaders in your worship ministries– especially those faithful volunteers who serve tirelessly. We’ve scheduled workshops that will be helpful to different worship styles. Rollo Dilworth and other NPU music faculty are teaching numerous workshops on Sunday– conducting, worship choirs, vocals (for both pop and classical), worship dance. And Matt Lundgren and CHIC band are doing a workshop: The Most Dangerous Church Band in the World. Josef Rasheed, musician and pastor par excellence, is teaching on creativity in worship, and Martha and Don Johnson and Jeanne Heckman are presenting on the visual arts (This seminar will explore the ways to use existing worship space to enhance the worship experience and stay connected to the biblical text.) Read all about it.

Here’s the deal. This is the best connection ever. We’ve been able to offer so much more, because we’ve linked up with YWC and CMJ. I didn’t even mention all that they are contributing to this shared menu– like general session speakers, CHIC band, dangerous worship experiences like CMJ sponsored site visits, and Chicago excursions.

Pastors and leaders: Register and make your last minute plans to come, or bring/send your key leaders who lead in worship arts, student ministries or an passionate about your church’s involvement in ministries of compassion, mercy, and justice.

Let me know if I can help.
