The Winnetka Covenant Church provided an unexpected blessing for Gary and for Julio and Katie Isaza this past weekend. Gary was going to be in the Chicago area for Covenant World Relief meetings and asked Pastor Peter Hawkinson if it would be possible to have a chance to share at Winnetka Covenant, bringing an “update” of the ministry that the Winnetka Covenant Church is a partner in with Gary and Mary Lou in Colombia. Julio and Katie Isaza are Project Missionaries headed to Colombia in January of 2012 to work in Church Planting and Leadership Development. Winnetka Covenant recently made a commitment to be a partner with Julio and Katie and so Pastor Peter put the three of them, Gary, Julio and Katie in the message time slot in the morning worship services at Winnetka Covenant last Sunday—a tag team sermon, witness and sharing time. What a blessing to give witness to how God is bringing together Julio and Katie (Julio and Mary Lou and Gary first met 16 years ago in Bogota, Colombia) with the Covenant of Colombia vision for planting churches and equipping leaders and the Covenant Mission in Colombia’s partnership in this vision, especially to include the youth generation in this vision. It was a blessing for Gary to be able to give witness to God’s powerful movement of bringing the right people together at the right time in the right place to join him in extending his kingdom.
