Thankful

Thanksgiving table 2012

Thankful for 33 years of marriage.

 

Thankful for 22 years of ministry and life in Colombia.

 

Thankful for the 24 ministry partners that we were able to visit in January, February, March and April of 2012 during our Home Assignment. Thankful for our many hosts (19) who opened their homes to us, fed us, and kept us warm in the weather. Thankful for the many connections made and the many new friends we met along the way.

 

Thankful for the opportunity to spend time with our adult children while in the U.S. on our Home Assignment.

 

Thankful for the celebration of our daughter, Leah’s, marriage to Daniel. Thankful for getting to this milestone in our married life – all of our children married and in careers.

 

Thankful for our Colombia Mission staff—Cathy, Holly, Julio, Katie, Sam, Kassie.

 

Thankful for the many Colombian women that Mary Lou works alongside of in Hands with Hope, Valuable Women in the Hands of Jesus, Advocacy for Victims of Abuse, Human Rights, and Women Ministries.

 

Thankful for the many Colombians that Gary serves on various Regional and National boards with – Alvaro, Martha, Javier, Monica, Jesus, Mario, Luis, Oscar, Carmen, Guillermo, Angela, Estefania, Jorge, David, Carlos, Anabella, Jader, Fernando, Eusebio, Axel, Esteban, Stina, Marte, Christer.

 

Thankful for the many times that Cila and Gabriel have hosted us when we have passed through Monteria this year and needed a place to stay.

 

Thankful for the pastoral couples that we have beeen with in many places that we have been able to minister this year both inside and outside of Medellin and for those whom we have partnered with in these places – Soledad, Barranquilla, La Ye de Sahagun, El Hato, Calle Larga, San Carlos, El Bagre, Bogota, Itagui, Bello.

 

Thankful for the ministry partners who were able to be present in Colombia this year: First Covenant Men’s ministry (Sacramento, CA) (twice); Kingsburg Community Church; Bayside Covenant Granite Bay; University Covenant (Davis, CA); Redeemer Covenant (Orangevale, CA); Peninsula Covenant (Redwood City, CA); New Community (Chicago).

 

Thankful for the Covenant World Relief gathering in Medellin, gathering community development partners from Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia and CWR.

 

Thankful for the new rented home that we were able to find on short notice and the good transition and blessing it has been for us and others.
