Memorial Service Sunday for Retired Pastor Ejnar Rask

CROMWELL, CT (December 1, 2009) – A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Ejnar Rask, 90, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester, Connecticut. Rask died November 24.

Rask was born August 15, 1919, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and grew up attending the Evangelical Covenant Church.

He earned an associate’s degree at North Park College in 1941 and a Bachelor in Religion degree at Augustana College in 1944. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary in 1946.

Rask married June Meyers in October 1947.

Rask served churches on the East Coast and Midwest, including Evangelical Covenant Church (now Flossmoor) in Chicago Heights, Illinois; Evangelical Covenant Church in South Bend, Indiana; Covenant Congregational Church (now Trinity Covenant) in Manchester, Connecticut; Covenant Congregational Church (now East Bridgewater) in Brockton, Massachusetts; First Covenant Church in Jamestown, New York; and Bethlehem Covenant Church, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was named pastor emeritus at Trinity in 1992.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters: Barbara Pope of Tolland, Connecticut; Kaye Merritt of Lakewood, Colorado; and Carolyn Orne Favier of Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
