Shattuck was born April 26, 1923, in Rockford, Illinois. He married Marie Louise Nelson on July 24, 1946.
Shattuck attended North Park Junior College, earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1950, and a Master of Divinity degree at North Park Theological Seminary in 1952.
Shattuck served as a minister at New London Covenant Church in New London, Connecticut; Pilgrim Covenant Church in Brooklyn, New York; First Covenant Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota; First Covenant Church in Lincoln, Nebraska; Bethel Covenant Church in Flossmoor, Illinois; and Salem Covenant Church in Washington Depot, Connecticut. He also worked in the Office of Development at North Park College.
In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters Cathy Shattuck and Nancy Shattuck of Lincoln and Carolyn Espenschade, also of Lincoln.
