CHICAGO, IL (August 5, 2009) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.

We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the “comments” link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.

Following are comments relating to recently published stories, edited in some cases for length. To read a particular story of interest, click on the headline.

Women Church Planters – Changing the Landscape

Rita Kay Lochner
of Glen Ellyn, IL, writes: Wow, this is a great story! Even though involved in ACCW for a decade, I had not heard of any of these women nor met them. The quotes were honest and insightful. Great job in making us women ministers feel valued and contributing, even though the going is rough.

Naveen Kumar Kommu of Hyderabad, Andhrapradesh, writes: I enjoy that story.

10,000 Pairs of Shoes – An Answer to Prayer

Paul Hedberg of Homewood, IL, writes: It’s great to start my day reading stories that are positive. Thanks Sandy for the work you’re doing in Haiti . . . and Crocs, too.

This Church Closed for All the Right Reasons

Scott Bruce of Santa Maria, CA, writes: I am a charter member of Crown Valley Covenant having begun meeting at Rev. Honnette’s home before we began meeting at Crown Valley School. I spent a lot of Saturdays pouring concrete and helping to put the roof on as we built the building. My dad, Wally Bruce, was a Covenanter from Minneapolis who played handyman at the church until he died in 1992. My mom is still in Laguna Niguel. While I am sad to see that era end, I applaud the final congregation for their faith, love and courage.

Haitian Ministry Flourishing in SE Conference

Sergot Garraud of Hudson, NY, writes: Good job, Pastor Matinez.
God bless you. MES salutations respctieuses.
