SEWARD, AK (July 27, 2009) – Annette Knofel, 59, wife of Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Bruce Knofel, was killed Sunday evening in a traffic accident near Anchorage, Covenant News Service has been advised.
The Anchorage Daily News, citing state trooper sources, reported the accident occurred around 8 p.m. when a pickup truck swerved into oncoming traffic and struck the Ford Escape in which the couple was riding.

Mrs. Knofel died at the scene of the crash, the newspaper reports. Her husband, who was driving at the time, was taken to Providence Alaska Medical Center for treatment of what the newspaper report describes as non-life-threatening injuries.
