MINNEAPOLIS, MN (May 6, 2009) – Services are pending for retired Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Norbert Johnson, 84, who died this morning in Minneapolis.
Johnson was born April 6, 1925, in Gladstone, Michigan. He married Elaine Johnson on June 17, 1950. She survives.

Johnson was ordained in 1955. He served Lafayette Covenant Church in Lafayette, Indiana; First Covenant Church in St. Paul, Minnesota; First Covenant Church in Omaha, Nebraska; and North Park Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois.
Survivors include two sons, Don Johnson, who is pastor of Montecito Covenant Church in Santa Barbara, California, and Tim Johnson, who is pastor of Bloomington Covenant Church in Bloomington, Minnesota; and a daughter, Carolyn Gabrielson of Turlock, California.
