This position is responsible for overall website strategy and developing and maintaining a high quality, relevant website on behalf of the Evangelical Covenant Church, including architecture, design, and content. It reports to the executive minister of Covenant Communications.
“What we hope to find is someone already involved with a dynamic website, someone with experience who can help pull our organization forward as we move the website into a new level of sophistication, interactivity and effectiveness,” says Don Meyer, executive minister.
“The Covenant website has grown tremendously over the years, as reflected in Google analytics that show the website consistently outpacing others of similar size in terms of the volume of unique visitors and pages accessed,” Meyer notes. “However, the website needs to continue to broaden and incorporate a host of emerging tools and expanding interactivity as we develop new ways for the church to communicate, to resource local ministry, and to connect people and ideas.”
This individual will play a key role in developing, executing and maintaining the strategic vision of the Covenant website in collaboration with the executive minister and others, and will provide guidance for future web applications and other on-line technology development through research, dialogue with experts and other means.
This position is responsible for all aspects of website development, maintenance and support, including administering the website content management system. This individual also trains and facilitates a team of content contributors from various ministry departments, enabling them to maintain web pages in their respective areas.
The highly motivated, self-directed candidate we seek will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience in the development of websites and web-based applications, or any combination of equivalent training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
This individual will have experience with content management systems and architecture, including integration of multimedia elements as well as the development and use of wikis, blogs, and other emerging social networking technologies.
