New Executive Director at Great Lakes Covenant Village

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (April 7, 2009) – Richard D. Kline has been promoted to executive director of Covenant Village of the Great Lakes. He replaces Kathie Witta, who is retiring.

The continuing care retirement community has more than 200 residents in 188 residential apartments, a 62-room assisted living residence and a 37-bed Medicare-approved skilled nursing center. Kline will direct a staff of 195 employees.

KlineBefore his recent promotion, Kline was health care administrator at Covenant Village. A licensed nursing home administrator, he joined Covenant Village in 2004.

Prior to joining Covenant Village, Kline spent eight years as the healthcare administrator at Manor Care in Toledo, Ohio. He also held management positions at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Michigan, and Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Kline is a native of Grand Rapids and has a bachelor’s degree in food systems economics and management from Michigan State University in Lansing, and a master’s in health administration from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
