CHICAGO, IL (March 5, 2009) – In its first-ever “email blast” sent Wednesday to some 1,200 women throughout the Covenant, the Department of Women Ministries announced new registration rates and payment options for next year’s Triennial XIII in Washington, D.C.

The Triennial theme – Reflecting God’s Glory – was inspired by the famed Reflecting Pool that graces the Lincoln Memorial just three miles away. “How am I reflecting God’s image?” asks Ruth Hill, executive minister of Women Ministries. “To whom am I reflecting his image?”

The presence of the memorial to Lincoln’s presidency and his leadership in ending slavery in the United States ties into another innovative and exciting feature of Triennial XIII, which will take place July 22-25, 2010.

“Each of the last three Triennials has had a new vision emerge once we started the planning,” Hill observes. “For Triennial XIII, it is a Hall of Justice – an interactive, multi-chambered room in which people will learn about major injustice issues in our world, God’s response, and ways they can confront injustice. It has been inspiring to see how this is slowly developing and I believe it will be a very powerful experience.”

The location of Triennial is in itself an historic experience, centered in the Omni Shoreham Hotel, which was built in the 1930s as a resort with 11 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds that are accessible only through the hotel entrance. Tours will provide opportunities for participants to see as much of Washington as desired.

Registration materials will be available in late summer this year, Hill advises. However, those visiting the Triennial website can take advantage of special low rates that are available only for a limited time beginning June 1. Hill suggests interested individuals visit the website now to begin making their plans and locking in the special rates. Click here to visit the Triennial website. A special email update service is also available on the website.
