ROCKFORD, IL (March 4, 2009) – A memorial service for Judy (Brown) Smith, 62, wife of retired Covenant Pastor David Smith, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Covenant Church in Rockford.
She was born May 15, 1946. The couple married August 17, 1967.

The couple served churches in the Midwest and West Coast, including First Covenant Church in Rockford and Glen Ellyn Covenant Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Trinity Covenant Church in Salem, Oregon; Simi Valley Covenant Church in Simi Valley, California; Pasadena Covenant Church in Pasadena, California; and Hinsdale Covenant Church in Hinsdale, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the church or Musalaha, a nonprofit organization that promotes reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians. The Smiths met with the head of the organization during their visit in the West Bank in 2007.
