SKOKIE, IL (February 12, 2009) – CovenantCare at Home, the home care subsidiary of Covenant Retirement Communities, recently began offering its private home care services at Covenant Village of Colorado, in Westminster.

CovenantCare at Home will provide Covenant Village of Colorado residents with nursing, transportation, and other supportive services in their residential apartments.

The startup is part of CovenantCare at Home’s plan to bring its home care services to communities served by Covenant Retirement Communities. The agency already offers services on the north side of Chicago and in the southern Chicago suburbs of Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles, and Carol Stream. After CovenantCare at Home establishes services with the residents of the retirement community, it expands to offer services to the community at large.

“The response of the residents…has been enthusiastic,” says Joseph Haughney, CovenantCare at Home president. “They find Covenant sponsorship reassuring because they feel it ensures quality. And they say that having supportive services available in their residential apartments gives them more flexibility and increases their on-campus options.”

CovenantCare at Home expects to offer its private services to the Westminster-area community at large in the weeks ahead. The company also has applied for Medicare certification. When certified, the agency will be able to bill Medicare and private insurers for covered home health expenses.

Established in mid-2008, CovenantCare at Home is a subsidiary of Covenant Retirement Communities, which is owned by the Evangelical Covenant Church and operates 15 retirement communities in eight states.
