MUSKEGON, MI (December 24, 2008) – Forty women who receive services through a local shelter for battered women recently were given a day of pampering, thanks to Renovate Covenant Church.
“We converted the shelter’s conference room into a full-out salon,” says Pastor Dave Diller. The church arranged for professional hair stylists, massage therapists, manicurists, and others to donate their time.

Each woman also received a gift basket with items valued at more than $150, including a $40 watch and gift cards to local businesses that include a theater and grocery store.
“Our goal was to give these women dignity and communicate to them that they are beautiful and of great worth,” Diller says.
Diller says the idea for the day came from people in his congregation. The church continues to foster a relationship with the organization, he adds.
Renovate is parented by Forest Park Covenant Church.
