Mexico City Church Installs First Female Pastor

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (December 16, 2008) – The first female pastor of an Evangelical Mission Covenant Church (EMCC) in the Mexico City area was installed recently.

Linda Elizabeth Sanchez Trujano was installed during the Central District meeting of pastors and leaders, which was held at the Acapulco Covenant Church where she ministers.

During the special ceremony, Trujano shared her faith journey and gave her first official benediction at the conclusion of the service. Isaac Lopez, pastor of El Dorado Covenant Church in Las Arboledas, preached the sermon and led the installation portion of the service.

Other participants in the service included newly elected EMCC president Gamaliel Adame; Jose Luis Bonilla, pastor of Puebla Covenant Church; and missionary Thomas Kelly.

Trujano leads a congregation of approximately 25 people that meets in her home.
