The position became open when Gary Walter assumed his new responsibilities as president of the Evangelical Covenant Church on September 1, following his election in June.
A nominating committee will review all recommended names and narrow the number of individuals to be invited to submit materials for consideration, including an updated Covenant Minister’s Profile. A smaller number will be invited to interview in January, with a nominee to be announced no later than the Executive Board meeting March 13-15, 2009.
The nominee will stand for election during the 124th Annual Meeting in June in Portland, Oregon, where other names also can be nominated from the floor. The new executive minister will assume responsibilities September 1, 2009.
The committee welcomes the entire ECC to submit names for consideration until December 1. All names must be submitted in writing, and include supporting rationale.
