CHICAGO, IL (October 31, 2008) – The North Park University men’s soccer team is again capturing national attention.

The Vikings are ranked No. 3 in the latest NCAA Division III Central Region poll. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America also ranks the Vikings No. 7 in its latest NSCAA/Adidas Central Region poll.

The Vikings have a 10-3-1 regional  record.

“Any time you are recognized as one of the best teams, it is extremely flattering,” says Coach John Born. “We have a tough road ahead of us; however we are prepared, and I know our guys will leave everything they have out on the field,” he adds. “It’s been a fun group to coach and I hope our season lasts quite a bit longer.”

North Park (10-6-1, 5-1) takes on Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday at 5 p.m. in Bloomington. With a win, the Vikings can secure the No. 2 seed in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.
