CHICAGO, IL (September 15, 2008) – The School of Business and Nonprofit Management (SBNM) at North Park University has introduced a new graduate certificate in church administration that may be completed entirely online.

The five-course sequence is designed for individuals working in church settings, other ministry areas and parachurch organizations who want to advance their management skills and practice. All certificate courses may be applied to a graduate management degree at North Park.

The first of the program’s five required courses, Principles of Church Administration, begins October 18 and runs for seven consecutive weeks, covering the integration of faith and business practices, strategic planning, financial management, leadership, human resource management, and reporting. It also will introduce students to the resources available to clergy and church leaders that help promote more effective management.

For church administrators in the Chicago area who wish to finish their bachelor’s degree, North Park’s School of Adult Learning offers a bachelor’s degree completion program with a major in church and ministry management.

For more information regarding these programs or to obtain an application, email Chris Nicholson, call Nicholson at 773-244-5518, or visit the SBNM website.

Scholarships of up to 35 percent are available for SBNM graduate courses.
