DETROIT, MI (July 21, 2008) – Citadel of Faith completed its “Summer in the City” tent revival held Sunday through Wednesday last week.

Roughly 150 people gathered each night under a tent situated near the church – many others were listening from their open apartment windows. Nine individuals committed their lives to Christ after pastor Harvey Carey preached on “Do You Know Your Place?” from the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

“Summer in the City” began with special movie nights held on four consecutive Friday evenings beginning June 20.

Later this summer, the church will present its annual “Back to School” carnival that has drawn nearly 1,000 visitors each year. The event includes carnival rides, a health clinic, music ensembles, and dance teams. The congregation also will give away 500 new backpacks filled with school supplies for underserved children.
