CHICAGO, IL (July 7, 2008) – Stories of Evangelical Covenant Church members responding to personal and communal tragedies were among the most-read articles posted on the denomination’s website in June.

Covenanters were inspired by the story of Heidi Stokes and her family’s determination to live life to the fullest despite multiple life-threatening or debilitating illnesses. Readers also paid close attention to the struggles of Covenanters in the Midwest in the aftermath of storms and historic flooding. A follow-up story on the work of two Covenant congregations in Kerman, California, to makeover the home of a family also captured readers’ attention.

The largest draw was the package of 2008 Annual Meeting stories posted throughout each day of the three-day meeting in Green Lake, Wisconsin. As decisions were made and approvals granted on a variety of topics, news stories developed by the on-site Communications team were posted within minutes of those actions, including photographs and video clips.

Following are the 10 most-read stories in June. To read a particular article, click on the headline.
