CHIANG MAI, THAILAND (July 1, 2008) – The new building for Cornerstone Counseling Center was dedicated May 30.

Among the three founders is Evangelical Covenant Church project missionary Tim Friesen, who also is a therapist.

The center will serve missionary families throughout Southeast Asia. Individual missionaries, couples, and children will come to the center for counseling. The counselors also will be available to travel to nearby countries for crisis intervention in times of emergency.

By offering the counseling, organizers hope to improve the quality of life for missionaries and prevent families from having to leave the field due to stress.

In June 2006, Pam Davis, a psychologist from the counseling center, spoke at the first-ever retreat that brought together Covenant missionaries from around Asia. She spoke on parenting children of missionaries and provided care.
