In Castaway Kid, Mitchell recounts his long journey from being abandoned by his mother at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago when he was three years old, through his years of personal anger while growing up in the Princeton Children’s Home (Illinois), and ultimately to his growth in faith and the redemption of his experiences.
The book soon will be published in a foreign language for the first time, Mitchell says. A German publisher recently purchased the rights to publish the memoir in German.
