GREEN LAKE, WI (June 24, 2008) – Arriving delegates to the 123rd Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church today were greeted with what the Central Conference billed as a “Wisconsin Welcome” – a sampling of Wisconsin Johnsonville sausage and Sargento cheese.

CheeseThe welcome table was positioned in front of the Kraft Center where arriving delegates could register and secure information in preparation for this evening’s opening worship service, with Dr. John Weborg scheduled to deliver the opening message.

The accompanying photo shows Chuck Wallace, president of Covenant Trust Company, being greeted by (from left) Joanne Nelson, wife of Central Conference Superintendent Jerome Nelson; Marci Hampton of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and her daughter, Katherine, who works with Covenant Retirement Communities.

“The Central Conference churches wanted to do something special to welcome delegates to this year’s meeting in a Central Conference location,” Nelson said in explaining the purpose of the table.

Sponsoring Badger District churches include Anchor Covenant Church in Lake Geneva, Arbor Covenant Church in Madison, the Evangelical Covenant Church in Milwaukee, Libertyville Covenant Church in Libertyville, Millard Community Church in Elkhorn, Zion Covenant Church in Sheboygan, and the Covenant Harbor Bible Camp and Retreat Center in Lake Geneva.
