WINDSOR, CO (May 23, 2008) – The tornado that ripped through this community on Thursday left unscathed the former campus of Covenant Bible College, says Josh Sauerwein, the school’s former business manager who provides oversight for the property.

The former campus dormitory buildings were reopened to provide housing for emergency responders from Wyoming who are assisting the city in disaster recovery efforts. Consideration was given to housing displaced residents there, but the Red Cross decided on another location.

One person is known to have died as a result of the storm, with many homes and businesses either destroyed or severely damaged.

Three Evangelical Covenant Churches in nearby cities reported no damage to their facilities.

Sale of the former campus is pending and is expected to be completed during the next 30 to 60 days.
