Volunteers Sought for 25th Annual Cornerstone Festival

CHICAGO, IL (March 3, 2008) – Individuals and groups can register online to volunteer during the 25th annual Cornerstone Festival sponsored by Jesus People USA Covenant Church. The festival will be held in Bushnell, Illinois, from June 30 to July 5.

Volunteers will receive reduced or free admission depending on the number of hours worked. To volunteer, visit the event website.

Bands hoping to be part of the New Band Showcase also should register online. Bands will need to upload an mp3, photo and biography. Online voting will take place March 18 through May 18. Sixteen bands will be chosen, and the one with the most votes will get to appear on the event’s Main Stage.

Previous bands that got their start at the festival include P.O.D., Ester Drang, Sixpence, None the Richer, and Over the Rhine.

Cornerstone is one of the premier events among Christian festivals, showcasing a wide range of art forms. The festival also hosts numerous workshops and well-known speakers. Speakers this year include theologian Miroslav Volf and Shane Claiborne.
