CONCORD, CA (July 5, 2007) – Annual Meetings in the Pacific Southwest Conference  (PSWC) of the Evangelical Covenant Church are always more celebration than business, and that celebration will spread even further throughout the conference beginning in the fall.

Mini-celebrationsEight “mini-celebrations” already are scheduled with more to be announced, according to Superintendent Evelyn M.R. Johnson. The first event will be September 30 at Good Samaritan Covenant Church in Valley Springs, California.

Each event will include music, testimonies of what is happening in the local congregations, and a speaker. Representatives from the conference also will be at each of the celebrations.

“It won’t be just informative, but encouraging and an enthusiastic affirmation of our churches’ ministries,” says Jeff Mitchell, Good Samaritan’s pastor.

The events will offer another opportunity for people from each of the churches to become more connected with one another as well as the PSWC, says Anita Eyer, director of conference ministries.

Most of the celebrations will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Sundays. For a list of scheduled dates and locations, please see the PSWC website.
