Minnesota Retirement Communities Seek HR Director

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (June 15, 2007) – Applications are being accepted for a position as human resources director serving Covenant Retirement Communities of Minnesota, including  Covenant Village of Golden Valley and Bethany Covenant Village in Minneapolis.

This position is responsible for all human resources management functions, including development and application of campus personnel policies, procedures and practices; maintenance of human resource documentation and employee personnel files; development and management of position descriptions, adherence to the corporate pay administration program as well as corporate policies and procedures; management of the workers’ compensation program; and the application of federal and state laws and regulations.

The position also manages campus aspects of centralized benefits and oversees campus functions related to the centralized payroll system. This individual is responsible for recruitment and retention of campus staff, new employee orientation, employee communication and recognition, employee relations, aspects of training and development, and the management of the timekeeping system.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in human resources leadership. SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification is required or must be attained within two years of hire. Also required is a working knowledge of human resource practices, employment laws and regulations and implementation.

The individual must be dependable, have excellent interpersonal relationship skills, demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional, prompt manner.  The person must be tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, in English), and be able to communicate effectively with administration, staff, residents and others with whom this position has contact. The individual must be courteous, have a genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled, and understand customer service and team building concepts. This person must have the ability to work with limited direction or supervision, take initiative, and have the ability to plan and carry out responsibilities.
