CHICAGO, IL (June 7, 2007) – Podcasts of talks given by three Covenanters to the general sessions at the recent national Urban Youth Workers Institute (UYWI) can now be downloaded free from iTunes.

RahThe talks were given by North Park Theological Seminary Assistant Professor Soong-Chan Rah (accompanying photo) and pastors Harvey Carey and Efrem Smith. Carey is pastor of Citadel of Faith Covenant Church in Detroit, Michigan, and Smith is pastor of Sanctuary Covenant Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Carey told the gathering to “Raise a New City.” Rah spoke on “Freedom to All the Captives and Pardon to All Prisoners,” while Smith gave several talks that included, “Heal the Heartbroken.”

The podcasts can be downloaded using the RSS feed on the UYWI website (please note that your browser must include RSS support in order to be able to access this feed), or by typing “uywi07” in the search box in the iTunes Music Store.

The tenth annual conference, held May 17-19 at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, attracted 2,000 youth workers from across the country. Center for Youth Ministry Studies was a major sponsor and hosted a pre-conference event earlier this year.

The Center for Youth Ministry Studies is a partnership of North Park University, North Park Theological Seminary, and the Department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Editor’s note: Our appreciation to Shou Mo of Mo Photography, missionary photographer at large, for the accompanying photo of Soong-Chan Rah. Mo and his wife are members of New Song Covenant Church.
