STRATHMORE, ALBERTA (May 17, 2007) – Covenant Bible College-Canada graduated 59 students during its 66th and final commencement weekend May 4-6.

Although this is the last class to graduate from the school, “The mood was celebratory,” says Paul Lessard, acting president. “The focus really was on what the Lord has done in this current group of students.”

CBCAlumni from all of the school’s campuses attended a gathering on Saturday night that honored current and past faculty and staff. “It was very powerful,” Lessard says.

Other weekend events included:
•    Friday – Banquet and ministry arts program
•    Saturday – Windows Concert, a glimpse into life at CBC through the vehicle of ministry arts. The event included several musical groups and other art forms, including puppetry.
•    Saturday – Commencement. Executive Director Todd Slechta preached.
•    Sunday – Worship service with commissioning of class of 2007.

The banquet was held at the Strathmore Civic Centre, but other major events were held at Hope Community Covenant Church.

CBC announced earlier this year that its campuses in Ecuador and Strathmore, Alberta, would close May 31 due to financial difficulties.
