Funeral Service Wednesday for Pastor Richard Schriber

MADISON LAKE, MN (May 7, 2007) – The funeral service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Richard Schriber, 63, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maplewood (Minnesota) Covenant Church.

Schriber died Friday following a six-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mankato Mortuary, with a prayer service to follow. A two-hour visitation prior to the funeral service will be held at the church. For a map and driving directions, please visit Maplewood Covenant Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Mahtomedi.

Schriber was born July 28, 1943, in St. Paul. He graduated from St. Paul Bible College in 1966. He received a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling from St. Mary’s College in Windsor, Minnesota, in 1987.

He married his wife, Nancy, on August 19, 1967.

Schriber was pastor at the Maplewood Covenant Church from 1977 to 1990. He previously pastored at several Christian and Missionary Alliance churches in Minnesota and Nebraska. Schriber often ministered through his sense of humor that included Lena and Ole skits, dressing as a clown and performing magic. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in North Mankato.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Angie Lund of Minneapolis, and Sharona Krause of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
